The upcoming opening of the Keizer Transit Center isn’t the only change involving bus service in Keizer.
Salem-Keizer Transit officials have gathered input via online surveys, on-bus flyers, social media and more. Based on that input, officials are recommending the extension of two routes and the elimination of another.
Sadie Carney, director of Community Relations for Salem-Keizer Transit, said the new transit center at Keizer Station is scheduled to be used for service starting June 24. The facility’s grand opening is scheduled for a week later, July 1.
In between, on June 27, there will be a public hearing at the Salem-Keizer Transit Board of Directors monthly meeting. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. at the City of Salem Council Chambers, 555 Liberty Street SE. Public comment will be at the start of the meeting.
