It’s become an all-too-familiar story: the track concession stand at McNary High School was broken into this week.

Tara Kiser with the McNary Booster Club went to the concession stand Tuesday evening to restock it for Wednesday’s track meet along with husband Scott and another volunteer.

When the group got there, it was discovered the stand had been broken into.

“We have been hit at least four times in less than a year,” Kiser said. “This is so very disappointing and emotionally draining for us.”

Kiser said nearly all the inventory was taken, though a padlock on the soda coolers was not damaged. A window and cabinets were damaged.

The plan is to have the stand cleaned up and ready for Friday’s track meet.

“Concession sales are a huge part of raising funds for McNary’s Athletic Booster Club,” Kiser said. “These funds help fill the holes in our athletic programs where funds are lacking. This benefits so many kids at McNary.”

Kiser is asking for help before, during and after track meets to help at the stand, starting around 2 p.m., plus a few people after the meets. Volunteer groups are also being asked to help at the stand April 30, May 10, 15 and 17.
