Of the Keizertimes

Sidewalks and new trees will be among the additions to Chemawa Road, thanks to an agreement approved by the Keizer City Council on March 18.

The agreement also means Kevin Hohnbaum and the group Keep Keizer Livable (KKL) are withdrawing an appeal to the Keizer Land Use Board of Appeals (LUBA). In December, KKL appealed the council’s approval of a remand of an Area C Keizer Station decision.

In lieu of an appeal, Hohnbaum and developer Chuck Sides with E-Village LLC worked out a deal that calls for E-Village to pay the city $50,000 – with the city putting in an equal amount – towards new sidewalks along the south or east side of Chemawa from Keizer Station to Verda Lane NE.
