Keizer Police are investigating an early-morning burglary attempt at a River Road coin dealer.

The suspects, or suspects, broke in to the former location of Keizer Computer around 4 a.m. Friday, June 29. The space was vacant – a result of the computer shop moving across the street three weeks ago – and the suspects attempted to enter the neighboring business, American Coin & Gold, 4922 River Road N., through the wall, said Capt. Jeff Kuhns of the Keizer Police Department.

“Because they entered through the neighboring shop it’s actually two burglaries,” Kuhns said. “When they tried going through the wall something set off the alarm inside the coin shop,” he said.

Keizer Police arrived on the scene two minutes after the shop alarm sounded, but the suspects had already fled.

Kuhns said officers planned to canvas neighboring businesses to see if the video cameras at other shops in Keizer Plaza shopping center offered leads.
