A man accused of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend from a Keizer apartment complex was found hiding in brush near Claggett Creek Wednesday afternoon.

The 20-year-old woman ran from a black Saturn vehicle stopped by Keizer Police Officer Scott Bigler at 11:25 a.m. saying she had been kidnapped and assaulted, authorities said. Officers had been notified of the kidnapping from an apartment complex in the 700 block of Parkmeadow Drive NE just five minutes earlier.

The driver ran northbound on River Road from Promenade Way, then ran down a steep embankment toward a heavily-vegetated area of Claggett Creek.

A Marion County K-9 unit responded to assist for the search, which restricted southbound River Road traffic to one lane in the 5800-6000 blocks. A second K-9 team, Keizer Police Officer Stephen Richardson and dog Axel, found the suspect hiding in brush at about 12:41 p.m.

Additional force was not required.

Police arrested Antonio Jesus Aguilar, 20, no permanent address, for kidnapping, two counts of domestic assault, disorderly conduct, attempting to elude police and probation violation.
