The McNary High School choir won first place in the 6A state championships Saturday evening.

Salem-Keizer Schools made their presence felt once again in the Oregon School Activity Association championship event at George Fox University, with West Salem High taking third and South Salem tying with Gresham High for fourth.

Other area schools putting up notable performances: Salem Academy and Western Mennonite High School each took third in 3A and 2A/1A, respectively.
