The object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service; the Keizer club has done that over the  past 46 years in countless avenues and touched countless Keizer residents.

Some of the projects funded by Keizer Rotary over the past five decades include specific projects either involving old fashioned hard work or funding/sponsorships such as the jaws of life for the fire district, defibrillators for the police department, McNary grandstand/bleachers cover, computers for schools, exchange students to and from far away countries, Keizer Young Life, World Community Service projects for clean water and disaster relief, play structures, the amphitheater at Keizer Rapids Park, Keizer’s Korner Park, dictionaries for all fourth graders each year and countless sporting teams.

Keizer Rotary’s biggest success in 2010 was the “Go for the Gold” raffle banquet in April.  The funds raised affords us the opportunity to fund numerous projects for the community.

Despite the raffle’s success, in 2011 we need to have the wisdom to fund the projects that provide the biggest bang for the buck for our community but yet the wisdom to invest in the ones that can make the single biggest difference in one person’s/group’s challenges which can last a life time.

Greg Frank is the president of the Keizer Rotary Club.
