A Keizer man was arraigned Monday on murder charges after the death of his wife.

A grand jury indicted Peter J. Zielinski, 39, on one count of murder, it was announced Monday, Jan. 31, in Marion County Circuit Court before Judge Nancy Campbell. He did not enter a plea. He appeared in a blue jail jumpsuit with a long-sleeved white undershirt. He did not speak during the hearing.

His wife, 38-year-old Lisa Zielinski, was shot dead Jan. 12 in their home on Nightingale Court NE in Keizer. A probable cause statement released after Peter’s arrest stated he shot his wife, believing she was having an affair.

She worked in sales and public relations at KYKN-AM radio in Keizer. Her memorial service was last week.

Circuit Court Judge Dale Penn has been assigned the case. Attorneys John Weiner and Noel Grefenson were assigned as Peter’s public defenders earlier this month. He remains in the Marion County Jail with no possibility of bail.

A status conference is set for Feb. 28.
