A River Road mainstay has a new owner – and a new name.
Salon Paradise is the new name, and Kim Lewis is the new owner.
Perhaps it was premonition – just a few months ago she posted on Facebook that she would own a salon in the next two years.
It was formerly Classic Touch Hair Salon, and was owned by Rosa Rios. It’s been in Keizer Plaza for 16 years. [MAP: 6]
Lewis has been hard at work putting her personal touch on the inside, including new lighting, plants and general rearranging. The salon offers all manner of hair services, including one stylist who does extensions. They also offer waxing, manicures and pedicures, some including hot stone massage.
“There’s a lot of therapy that goes into a pedicure,” Lewis said. “The massages alone are 10 to 15 minutes.”
Appointments can be made up to two weeks in advance, but walk-ins are welcome as well.
Lewis looks to establish a spa feel “at a great price.”
She started at the salon under Rios a few months ago, leasing a station. She has worked 23 years in the hair industry after graduating from cosmetology school in Portland.
Lewis said she had explored the mid-valley and “really wanted to be in Keizer. I guess I ended up in the right place at the right time.”
Eventually she hopes to get into franchising, opening several more Salon Paradise locations.
She’s joined up with the Keizer Chamber of Commerce, calling it “the best thing I’ve ever done. That is just such a great, loyal group of people.”
