A woman and child were taken to Salem Hospital after a single-vehicle crash on Tuesday, May 11.

According to Salem Police Lt. Dave Okada, 31-year-old Raven M. Gough of Keizer was driving southbound in a 2004 Lincoln Sedan when authorities believe her car went up on the curb in the raised median at the River Road split just south of Keizer and hit a tree at Broadway and Stark Street. It then landed on its roof.

The accident was reported at 7:27 a.m.

Crews had to extricate Gough and a 10-year-old boy from the vehicle, and both were taken to Salem Hospital. An initial call to LifeFlight was eventually canceled.

Okada didn’t know if the two were wearing seatbelts, he said.
